It's a New DAY!!!
So day 1.. I woke up 30 minutes early to do one of my exercise videos. It's from the American Heart Association and its simply a walk at home video. According to my fitness pal I burned 168 calories in just 22 minutes though! I feel great, though I am starving and need to eat breakfast. I'm ready to start my day! You can check out the video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=df2gn6-w0dE It might seem easy to you but to me it's a starting point to a healthier me!!

Sacrifice so you can be an idiot?
If you haven't read this article yet, I suggest you do so before going any further in this post. This whole thing angers me to no end! At first I though, ok they earned the medals let them do as they please. BUT one person in this article says "I choose human life over war" Well DUH don't we all??? I am pretty sure that when these people joined the military they knew war was a possiblity. After all, the military is there to protect our freedom and unless they've been living under a rock their whole life I am pretty sure they knew with war comes loss of life. It isn't just Iraq and Afghanistan that has lost life. Do they not remember the thousands of brothers and sisters they have lost. I personally know a couple of people who have lost a brother, father, husband and friend. WE as a country have lost human lives and although it is not pleasant to think about it will continue. So long as America is the greatest country in the world, lives will be lost to keep it that way. Do I wish we wouldn't lose anymore loved ones? Absolutely! I don't like people dying any more than the next person. If it were unavoidable don't you think we'd avoid it? Am I anti-war? At one point I thought I was but then I got to know a couple of special people who have lost loved ones to this war. The Upchurch family, The Hubbard family, and the The Jarboe family. I apoligize if there is someone I missed. These just stand out in my mind because I know your loved ones. Your loved ones did not die in vain. They died fighting for their country! So that I could write this blog. So that those protesters could protest. So that you and I can discuss things like this without punishment.
I know our veterans struggle every single day with life after war. The things they see, hear and do are horrific and I can't even imagine having to deal with that for the rest of my life. I've seen it affect people in ways that are unimaginable.
Remember the Marine who was recently discharged for saying something anti-Obama? Shouldn't these protestors also be discharged for being so disrespectful to their country? Some even showed up in uniform! We all know war isn't pleasant, but they signed up, they knew what could happen and they know the consequences of their actions. No one forced them to. There wasn't a draft. They chose to serve their country and now the choose to act like an idiot. This kind of behavoir by military personnel should not go unpunished.
I hate to say it, but this country is going downhill so fast that not even a new president can fix it quickly. War changes lives forever. Do you think those terrorists feel bad for killing thousands of our people on 9/11? I am sure they don't. They don't even feel bad when they kill their own people. Do they feel bad when they kill our soldiers? Probably not. Do I feel bad that their people are dying? Yes, absolutely. BUT we must do what is necessary to protect our people!
I know this is just random blabbing but I can't believe that members of our military would protest like this. It's just terrible in my mind. It is as if they are saying the thousands WE as a country have lost were not worth it. I beg to differ. Those that I know that have lost a loved one would argue until they were blue in their face that their loved ones did not die for nothing. Their lives were and are worth something!
As a friend of mine would say, Be an American worth dying for!
I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but I needed to vent my frustration. After all, the lives lost were lost so I could voice my opinion just like these protestors right? Doesn't mean I have to like what they have to say just like you don't have to like what I have to say. :-)

Something on my mind
There's a lot on my mind lately but one thing weighs heavily. Same sex marriage. The bible belt state I live on recently voted to ban same sex marriage. This makes me so sad. Since when is it someone elses decision who I can marry? I'm not gay but I know several people who are. Why does their happiness have anything to do with the constitution? Whether its state by state or nationally. I wasn't aware that another persons relationship could adversely affect me in any way. Will a kiss between two women or men harm me in any way? Uh no! So what there are two vaginas or penises. Who cares! If those people are happy, let them be. Everyone deserves the right to be happy with whom ever they choose. What about seeing two men or women kissing or holding hands is so damn wrong???? Maybe i'm biased because I see how it affects people I love. Or maybe im just right. What we can ban same sex marriage but we cant ban funeral protesting? I would certainly think that those idiots are causing more harm with their obscene and hurtful.signs and protests than two gay people being married! same sex marriage should just not be an issue! There are more important things this country needs to worry about. Like taking care of our wounded warriors. Decreasing the unemployment rate. Decreasing the homeless population.
Ill step off my soapbox now. I think ive made my point.

New Beginnings!
Life in North Carolina is GREAT other than the new medical issues. I LOVE my job! It's GREAT! Being close to dad is great too. I really miss mom and every one in KS/IL/MI but moving to NC was THE BEST thing I have ever done for myself. I'm also dating someone. For those of you that know what I went through 4 years ago with Brandon, this is a HUGE step for me. He's a great guy and treats me perfectly!
I hope you'll join me on this journey and I hope to entertain you along the way!
